Silky Oaks reopens after a multi-million dollar rebuild
Renowned as one of Australia’s enduring luxury resorts, Tropical North Queensland hideaway Silky Oaks Lodge reopened in December 2021 following a multimillion-dollar rebuild by the team at Baillie Lodges, bringing their globally lauded style and sensitivity to a genuinely iconic lodge and location in the World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest.
TOURISM
We create sanctuaries to offset the stress of modern living.
Vacation time is assuming greater relevance as travellers are now reaching out and seeking new and uplifting experiences. Tourists have matured from “acquiring” as many locations in a vacation as possible to now seeing themselves as travellers wishing to immerse themselves in a culture, learn some new skills or improve on some old ones.

MASTER PLANNING
We understand that ultimate success comes with the creation of commercial value and a positive contribution to the natural, social and urban environment.
Projects include a number of major marina focused integrated residential and tourism precincts in North Queensland and on the Fraser Coast: studies for large tracts of land to integrate a harbour town, residential community and international standard golf course with facilities to service a population of 12,000 persons; multiple revitalisation master plans for local authorities; and four integrated residential golf course development projects incorporating various tourism products.

OUR CLIENTS
We are trusted partners.
At Hunt Design, we embrace the responsibility to make our projects successful. Gary Hunt has been a successful developer of a number of projects in his own right and as such is a proven negotiator tempered in the fires of commercial reality.
We see ourselves as team players - not just architects, master planners or interior designers.
By working in collaboration in an inter-disciplinary environment Hunt Design has recognised the extraordinary benefits for all. Crystallisation of project drivers, clear comprehension of relative roles and immense personal and professional satisfaction are the by-products of such a modus operandi.
